The earlier Canon printers have larger ink tanks so an expenditure of this kind is worth making. I think the alignment did not damage the print head. Fitted immediately with new ink cartridges and now I have a fully functioning printer again after multiple cleaning attempts failed including removing the print head and thoroughly cleaning so I am very pleased indeed. Please try again later. I do use compatible inks rather than Canon ones, but I don’t think that makes any difference.

Please try your search again printhdad. Widely used vanon all kinds of printing medium. I was really glad to be able to replace the print hear rather than have to replace my whole printer, as I like the features with this printer.
Is there any future in refilling? This means the item has been inspected, cleaned, and repaired to full working order and is in excellent condition. If this occurs, close the scanning unit printer coverand open it again.

Several deep cleans and printhead removal and cleaning had little effect. My Canon MP printer had blocked nozzles and no amount of attempts to clean the offending nozzles worked. I then did a manual head alignment, reprinted the extended nozzle check, and the gap cabon the cyan and green blocks was back, exactly as in the extended nozzle check I uploaded in my second post above.
I then tried recleaning the timing strip, did another extended nozzle check, and got the following. I think the alignment did not damage the print head. Check again for dirty timing strip. If in question – loss of Cyan swaths on the extended nozzle check – then either flush and refill or use a new Cyan cartridge.

Reseating the MP610 print head
Some fine white lines were eliminated by carrying out an auto alignment. The uploaded scan of the nozzle check is an accurate representation of what the printed test looks like – the “banding” in the first cyan stripe is in the print, it is NOT an artifact of the scanning or compression.

My first thought is why did you do a manual alignment – canln at all! This item may or may not be in original packaging. Thanks so much for taking a look. Canon were, BUT 3D is better.
